About Me
Hello! I am Der-Ting Huang, a PhD candidate in Business Administration, specializing in International Business and Strategy, at Gies College of Business, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. My research interests center around how multi-unit firms make strategic decisions in diverse institutional environments by incorporating insights from transaction costs economics and the resource-based view. Specifically, my research agenda seeks to understand how multinational corporations structure their location and investment strategies across local, regional, and international (supranational) levels.
My dissertation has been awarded the Strategy Research Foundation (SRF) Will Mitchell Dissertation Grant, AIB Award for the Best Doctoral Dissertation Proposal (Winner), and Taiwanese Overseas Pioneers Grants (TOP Grants) for Dissertation. My job market paper was nominated for the 2024 Alan Rugman Most Promising Scholar Award. I am currently on the 2024-2025 academic job market.

Before joining the PhD program, I earned a BBA in International Business from National Chengchi University in Taipei and an MA in Economics from Columbia University in the City of New York.
